Rob was born in Ottawa, Canada, to loving, Christian parents and came to know Christ at a young age. He attended Ottawa University, obtaining a BSc in Computer Science.

Mei-yit was born in Mexico to non-Christian parents and lived for part of her life with her grandparents. She came to know Christ as a young adult. Mei-yit attended medical school, where she obtained a degree in medicine. She is presently specializing in ophthalmology.

Rob and Mei-yit met in Mexico City in 2002 when Rob was finishing up a year-long missions trip there. They were married in January 2007, and now serve together in different parts of Mexico City.

They work in various ministries, but focus on helping the needy. Rob and Mei-yit share God and His Word in a community of homeless addicts, in a Salvation Army children's home, and in a community of indigenous people. Some of their other ministries include discipling and an English club. They also hope to provide a medical ministry to the very poor when Mei-yit is finished with her medical training.
