Ron joined ACTION after graduating from Prairie Bible Institute in April of 1984. Deputation lasted about eight months and with less than 90 percent support, he flew to the Philippines in early January. A couple years in language training was followed by consolidation at Project Jabez with CGM's street-kid ministry. In 1989, the doors closed and he spent ten months seconded to Reach Forth Sports in Ontario. The following year, ACTION was incorporated and Ron returned to the Philippines, joining Jeff Anderson in starting the street kid ministry. In 1994, after consecutive bouts with typhoid, hepatitis, and dengue fever, Glenn Johnson found him a place in Olongapo City with necessary cleaner and cooler air.
Ron worked with Calvary Chapel's Kids in Need for several years and is now working with LifeHouse Village and their ministries to orphans and street children.
