Robbie was born in Burnaby, British Columbia but spent most of his life on a cattle farm in Langley, just outside of Vancouver. After graduating from High School he went on a short term missions trip with his church, during which time God planted a seed for ministry in his heart. He fell in love with the warmth of the people and saw how much need existed in the country. He knew he would be involved in work in Ecuador again, but did not think that full-time ministry was for him.

After two years of post-secondary studies for his Bachelor of Science degree, Robbie realized that that this was not God’s plan for his life. One of his genetics professors spoke about following your passions and Robbie knew that God has given him a passion to help people and tell others about Christ in developing nations. He went on a 6 month missions trip to South America and upon returning to Canada, enrolled at Columbia Bible College. He is currently enrolled in the Intercultural Studies program and for the third year of his degree he will be participating in a year-long internship in Quito, Ecuador, beginning in January, 2011.

Once there, Robbie plans to be involved in teaching English, children's ministry, and working with local, partnering churches.
