Doug and Margaret first went to the Philippines in 1970 with Overseas Missionary Fellowship on loan to Christ for Greater Manila, from which ACTION began in 1974. They adopted their two children, Robby and Julie, and lived in the Philippines until 1990. The focus of their work was among the poor through evangelism, discipleship, and development. As Founder & International Director Emeritus, Doug is based in Greater Seattle focusing on leadership development of the mission, specifically for Africa, Asia, and Latin America. After a serious bout with cancer in 1994, Doug and Margaret continue to travel in ministry worldwide.
