Jomel and Carl Loewen

Carl and Lisa Loewen, ministering with Honest Hands Discipleship Home in the Philippines, have a vision to disciple young men from the fringes of society to become strong men of God.

Recently, as Carl Loewen was sitting on his front porch chatting with friends after a busy day, he noticed a familiar figure walking towards him. It was Jomel, a young man who had dropped out of the discipleship program four years ago and drifted back to a troubled life on the street. Jomel sat down beside Carl and slowly told his story. He had just spent two and a half years in jail after he was charged as an accessory to a murder.

Carl says, “Here is the amazing part of the story: I expected Jomel to request money or a job, but he said he came to ask for forgiveness for the way he had acted four years ago and to express his thanks for the things I had taught him from the Bible. He said he read the Bible I gave him every day in jail. We prayed together and then Jomel left. Please pray that Jomel will find a job, stay out of trouble, and seek God wholeheartedly.”
