Riding for CiC

This fall, as I've done the past 3 years, I will be riding 25km to raise funds for ACTION's Children in Crisis (CiC) fund, available to our missionaries to help finance special outreach events to needy children, youth, and families. Unlike previous years, I will not be doing it through Ride for Refuge, but utilizing ACTION's website Campaign fundraiser option.

Please consider giving a financial gift to help me reach or surpass my goal, the most ambitious one yet. Any gift of $10 or more is tax-receiptable. All funds raised will be added to the CiC fund minus an 8% administration fee. When sending a donation to an ACTION office, mark it for "Scott's Ride for CiC Campaign".

My Campaign goal is in CDN funds.

Scott grew up in a loving, evangelical, Christian home and came to Christ at the age of seven. He attended two years of Bible college before the Lord led him into full-time Christian ministry. Scott spent 17 years ministering to First Nation and Metis communities in southern Manitoba, Canada. He has had 25 years experience in camping ministry, including portions of two years training nationals in the former Soviet Union. Scott shares, “I was exposed to missions and ministry at an early age, through my parent’s involvement in our church and in a mission called, “The Shantyman”. I continue to grow and mature throughout my life, being trained by the Lord for present and future works of service for Him.”

Scott joined ACTION in 2002, getting involved in youth camp leadership training in Cuba. He was quite involved with ACTION’s Cuba and México ministries from 2002-2007, including spending 10 months in Cuba, studying Spanish and involved in ministry, in 2003-2004.

In 2006, Scott became part of the ACTION Canada office staff, taking on the position of Director of Promotion and Recruitment, representing ACTION at Bible colleges, churches, and mission conferences across western Canada, as well as handling inquiries and applications for short term and long term ministry opportunities. Although Scott has not been as involved in overseas ministry in recent years, his heart is still there, and he visits other ACTION fields around the world – to meet more of the ACTION team, understand first-hand the needs, ministries and environment they live and work under, and to minister alongside – as opportunities arise.

Note: Gifts designated for a specific project or ministry will be used as specified. If the project or ministry is fully funded or cannot be carried out for any reason, Action Canada may apply these funds to other board approved projects of a similar nature.
