Uganda: Pastoral Leadership Development - Northern Region

Send a Note Start a Campaign

Pastoral Leadership Development in Northern Uganda focuses on training, discipling, and equipping Ugandan pastors, who otherwise do not have access to Biblical training, to lead their congregations through Christ-centered and Bible-centered teaching and preaching. We focus on building up the Church through participation in local congregations, one-on-one discipleship of church members and workers, and equipping local pastors to shepherd their churches.

Conferences, discipleship, and one-on-one training are the key components of Pastoral Leadership Development in Kampala, Gulu, and surrounding regions.

Due in part to a decade of war, most pastors in northern Uganda have not had the opportunity to receive much schooling, especially seminary, or Bible school. Limited understanding of the Gospel, limited literacy, and deeply engrained animistic beliefs are many of the challenges encountered by local pastors. Pastoral Leadership Development is primarily focused on discipleship of individuals and raising up leaders among the Acholi people.

The PLD Fund is used to offer conferences for pastors and leaders in remote regions of Northern Uganda, extending to pastors from Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan, and to give hands-on, supervised teaching experiences in prisons, home visits with HIV-affected families, one on one discipleship, and daily devotions for current staff and missionaries.

If you know of a paster that loves to teach the Word of God, encourage him to contact ACTION to find out how he might participate with the PLD ministries.
