Philippines: Project Pag-asa Building Fund

Send a Note Start a Campaign
Project: Pag-asa has grown!

Project: Pag-asa is a school that provides trauma-informed education to children living in orgphanages, all of whom have experienced trauma, often in the form of abuse, abandonment, and neglect. In 2014, Project: Pag-asa started as a school of ten students. In 2023, we grew to over 60 students. As we celebrate the fact that Pag-asa is now reaching more students, we also recognize that we have a need for more space.

In 2019, land was donated for a new school and the building plans were drawn up. We are currently in the process of raising funds necessary to build the school, which may be done in phases.

With large growth in a short amount of time, Pag-asa started operating out of two locations in 2023. The new school building will allow us to work together again, so older students can mentor younger students, staff can more easily work across grade levels, and resources can easily be shared. It will also help ease the travel burden on our partner orphanages.

Our new school building will provide more space for optimal learning, allowing us to reach significantly more students. The layout of the school has been customized to suit the unique learning needs of our students, with space for students to get one-on-one support. The new building will be built with features that allow students with physical disabilities to access our classes. This will enable us to reach even more students with diverse learning needs. The school building will have a library, computer room, court yard for students to engage with one another outside and a basketball court, along with much more. We are very excited for the opportunities that this building will bring.
