Lu is a minister and a former rocket scientist, and is a vibrant crusader of apostolic spirit. He believes that joining ACTION as a full-time missionary is a divinely orchestrated act.

Using a holistic approach, such as business as mission, to demonstrate God’s love in a powerful and tangible way among the indigenous people and communities, resulting in ministry that is financially and spiritually self-sustainable, and church multiplication movements.

Early Days

Texas A&M University, Aggieland, was the spiritually rich soil for his growth:  Grace Bible Church in College Station has a been big part of his spiritual life. Under Dallas Theological Seminary’s influence, Grace Bible Church built him a strong foundation of biblical interpretation of the scriptures, equipped him with a wide range of knowledge of ministries and teaching, and gave him a great exposure to the mission world.

In mid-2016, when he traveled to the Philippines on a short vision trip, he met the director of Wipe Every Tear (WET) ministry.  Inspired by their passionate zeal for those lost souls in sex trafficking, Lu went on an outreach mission trip with WET in early 2017 and discovered the reality of sex trafficking in the Philippines.  His heart was deeply broken, and he came up with some ideas of business as mission as a holistic ministry approach. This trip also confirmed God calling him to fulfill the Great Commission as a cross-cultural overseas missionary.

On-going Projects

Lu has made many ministry trips over the past couple of years and his heart has settled initially on ministry in the Philippines.  Here is a list of 3 ministry projects he has been working on:

1. Train exported overseas Filipino workers and equip them how to share the Gospel and make disciples across the globe: millions of workers go to difficult and closed countries (where most western missionaries cannot go) to be witnesses for Christ in oil countries in the Middle East.  He is currently online coaching some overseas Filipinos working as servants in some families in one of the spiritually darkest countries. The Gospel is strictly forbidden, but they prepare the early-age children spiritually through God's Word before those children hear their cultural/national religion from their parents (as seen in the photo slideshow). The Kingdom impact on the world will be massive from these newly realized tentmaking missionaries.

2. Abaca livelihood project in Region VIII & V in 2017-2020 under Global Church Movement, a new ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ: To train 30 pastors and minister to 300 farmers in two of the least evangelized and poorest regions of the Philippines.  The livelihood project will help provide a long-term effect for a sustainable economic assistance and will also serve as an effective bridging platform to the farmers in the strategic targeted districts for the holistic church planting strategy - eventually to plant at least one church in each district of the regions after 5 years.  Some churches planted can be seen in the photo slideshow:  The buildings are being used for the worship service or Sunday school even if they are in poor condition or not yet complete.

3. Facilitate and initiate employment opportunities including discipleship and vocational training for the rescued sex trafficking victims as an effective holistic approach to have their lives restored physically, emotionally and spiritually, partnering with Wipe Every Tear.
