I was born and raised in a Christian home, but it wasn’t until I started attending the youth group at my home church at the age of fourteen that I surrendered my life to the Lord. I started pursuing and serving the Lord by becoming a student youth leader at my youth group, serving in the children's ministry at my church, helping on the tech crew on Sunday mornings, and ministering to my peers and friends both inside and outside of school, for Jesus said “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant will also be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.” John 12:26 (NIV)

Throughout high school, I had gone on a few short-term mission trips with my church. I really enjoyed them but didn’t feel that God was calling me to the mission field full-time right then or anytime in the near future.

It wasn’t until right after graduating from high school and getting back from my recent short-term mission trip to Bogota, Colombia that I felt the call to go into missions and to go back to Colombia as the Lord had broken my heart for the people there. After praying about it and talking to my mentors, I decided to go back to Colombia in the near future and answer God’s call to be a worker sent out into the harvest.

I had first found out about ACTION through my church when I partnered with a local ACTION missionary, Javier Riano, and his team over the summer to help with their Bible camp and serve in the ministry center alongside the local church in Bogota. I look forward to returning there again to make disciples and serve the urban poor in southern Bogota.
