Todd was born in the province of Newfoundland, where he came to a personal faith in Jesus Christ at the young age of 4 years. At the age of 11, he and his family moved to the province of Alberta, where Todd finished high school. He went on to post-secondary education, earning Bachelor of Music and Master of Divinity degrees. Todd married his wife, Bev, on June 3, 1995, and for a period spanning 15 years (April, 1998 – April, 2013), they went on to serve in two, rural churches as pastor and wife.
Todd now serves in the area of Pastoral Leadership Development with ACTION. Possessing a passion for doctrine, having a heart for pastors, and longing to see Christ exalted amongst the nations, Todd now uses his gifting & ministry experience writing materials for undertrained pastors & Christian workers overseas. Living with his wife, Bev, in the province of Alberta, he counts it a tremendous honour and privilege to be a part of the ACTION family and its work for Gospel advance across the globe. He is a co-editor of ChristMyCovenant.Com.
During a church conference in Mt. Hermon, California (May, 2008), Doug Nichols asked Todd to produce a book of sermon outlines for needy pastors in the Philippines. The result wasTwentySix Sermon Outlines for Preaching & Teaching (CGM: Quezon City, 2009). Published in English and also available in Spanish, the project was instrumental in steering Todd’s path in its present course. “We have a wealth of Biblical resources,” Todd observes. “We who have so much must share with those who have very little by way of training. Supporting and feeding national pastors with sound doctrine is the way to a sound overseas church. PLD is absolutely vital to fulfilling the Great Commission.”
If pressed, Todd would include these verses (in their contexts) among his favorites:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
“But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Galatians 6:14).
