Mike and Tracy first met in Denver, Colorado in September of 1985 and were married on October 18, 1986 in Superior, Wisconsin (Tracy’s hometown). In 1988, they moved to Fairfield, Connecticut (Mike’s hometown), where their son, Glenn, was born in 1989. In 1994, they returned to Superior where they lived and worked until God placed the call of missions on their lives.
It was February 2013, when they first traveled to Manila on a business trip for Tracy’s secular job. This was the means God used to reveal cross-cultural ministry to them. In September 2013, they began following the Lord’s leading on their lives and attended new missionary orientation in Seattle, Washington where they were accepted to join in ministry with Action International Ministries (ACTION). In February 2014, they returned to Manila on a vision trip where God confirmed their calling to cross-cultural missions on a long-term basis.
While they began raising support for full-time missions, Mike attended school for several years and they both served in ministry with their local church (North Bay Community Church) as well as getting involved with other outreach opportunities and Christian organizations. Mike received his ministerial license through the EFCA and Bible certificate through Moody Bible Institute in preparation to serve on the mission field. He has served with ACTION’s SCM (Sustainable Church Multiplication) ministry since November 2015 and has traveled to several countries as well as several locations within the Philippines to train local pastors and leaders in training disciples who make disciples. Tracy resigned from her full-time job of 16 years in December 2016, one month before they would depart for the mission field, and has a heart for evangelism and discipleship.
After raising support for almost 4 years, they were commissioned by their local church (North Bay Community Church) in November 2016 and arrived on the mission field January 22, 2017 to serve with ACTION in Metro Manila. They are now enrolled in formal language school where they are learning the language and culture of the Filipino people. They are also active in the local church they are attending in Metro Manila, and volunteering in ministry with a shelter for survivors of human trafficking, as well as other areas of discipling.
