Hello Family, Friends and Readers,
My name is Anna Cantor and I am from all over the Eastern Seaboard, having grown up as a Navy brat. For the past two and a half years I have been studying for my bachelor’s at Moody Bible Institute in Spokane, Washington.
In pursuing an Intercultural Ministries degree I hope to gain understanding, which will further equip me to work cross-culturally with women and children in a social work capacity. In addition to my studies at Moody, I have also had the opportunity to lead a ministry for children in the Logan neighborhood of Spokane, in which many families experience poverty, addiction, or domestic abuse. Through this ministry, known as the Good News Club, I and other Moody students have been able to reach out to children and families with the Gospel. As a result of this ministry, my heart for ministering to women and children has grown significantly. Thus, I look forward to an opportunity, which God has given me for this upcoming summer.
After prayer and consideration concerning what God would have me do for an internship, I am excited to embark on a journey to the Philippines, to learn what it means to minister in a cross-cultural environment, gaining further experience for ministry in the future. I will be interning alongside Erin Johnson, a missionary with Action International who is the founder and director of a ministry called Brand New Day. Located in the Philippine province of Cavite, the ministry’s focus is on children and youth who are living and working on the streets due to extreme poverty.
There are a couple ways that you can partner with me in my journey this summer. I would be so grateful for your prayers! I am praying that I will have opportunity to grow in my trust in the Lord as he further reveals to me how I can best be a servant to others. In addition, you can also participate by supporting me financially.
I greatly look forward to this time I will spend in the Philippines! I am thankful for the Lord’s leading in this and trust that he will use this experience to further shape me for future ministry!
