My name is Esther Smoak, and this year I have felt God leading me to take a gap year and serve as a short-term missionary before going to college. My plans were to go to Malawi for three months but instead, God has been opening other doors. I am planning on living with my Uncle’s family in Macedonia and volunteering at their small church plant. I will be serving there from the beginning of September to the end of November.
My goal for these three months is to focus on serving God as well as growing closer to Him and learning to seek His will for my life. Pray that I will be comforted while being far away from my family and that I will see God’s hand working in new ways.
I have also been accepted into the YWAM Ships program in Hawaii and hope to join in January. The total amount needed for the Discipleship Training School in Kona, Hawaii, is about $6,000, including the round trip flight. Please keep me in your prayers, as I trust God to supply all the funds and order the details of these plans.
