I was born and raised in the Vancouver, BC area, of German/Russian heritage. I came to personal faith in Christ in November, 1963 during a Janz Team (now called Teach Beyond) Crusade. My salvation verse is John 1:12: “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”. After graduating from high school, I went on to post-secondary education at Briercrest College & Seminary, graduating with a Bachelor of Religious Education (Bible and Christian Education) and MDiv in Theological Studies. I also studied at Winnipeg Theological Seminary (now Providence Seminary) and graduated with an MA in Christian Education.

From 1988 till 2011, I served with Venture Teams International (VTI) as Director of Internships and Training Coordinator. During that time I ministered on two Friends & Followers teams in the Philippines, India, Singapore and Australia. I also led a summer GAP team to Austria. My role at VTI was to teach Bible, Theology, Puppetry, Missions, Culture and administer the academic credit program for Bible Colleges in Western Canada.

After 23 years, I moved over to ACTION in 2011, when VTI closed its doors. At ACTION I serve as the Training Coordinator in ACTION Canada’s training division, ACTION Ventures (AV). At AV we train young people and young adults to share the gospel crossculturally in teams using the performing Arts. My role is to organize all the training events for pre-field preparation so teams can function effectively both in North America and overseas as well as the post-field debrief. Specifically, I teach Bible, theology, missions, culture and puppetry.
