We are the Henderson family. Before coming to Mexico, Scott was a high school English teacher working with at-risk youth and a basketball coach, and Shona was a home school mom and a part time public health nurse. As a family we lived and ministered in Pomona, California, where through our local church (Pomona First Baptist/Purpose Church), we started and directed a children’s mentoring/homework club, which continues to reach out to Hispanic children and their families.

In 2005, we moved to Texcoco, Mexico (just outside of Mexico City) and partnered with two local churches to do children’s Bible clubs, home Bible studies, and youth work for five years. After training the national leaders to take over our responsibilities, God called us to move to Puebla, Mexico, where we have been working in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, and community development.  Our calling is to serve alongside local Mexican churches, training them in wholistic discipleship and outreach, striving to see authentic followers of Christ integrating biblical truth into all areas of their lives.  We believe the church is the primary vehicle mandated by God to bring people unto Himself and grow in their personal walk of faith. Therefore, our goal is to model and teach churches to be light in their communities, and as they themselves are being transformed by the work of the Holy Spirit, they in turn affect change in their local neighborhoods and beyond.
