In 2017, I returned home from a missional gap year in Cyprus. God continued to stir in my heart a love for the nations, but I have been in a season of waiting and joy, as I have learned to pursue ministry and growth in South Carolina. I was recently accepted into Anderson University School of Nursing, where I hope to graduate in May of 2021. God has slowly confirmed nursing in my heart as a way I can better love the lost and hurting. He has shown me how nursing can not just meet physical needs but is an outlet to point broken hearts to their true Healer, Jesus. My prayer has been that God will give me an opportunity to use nursing to further His kingdom here on earth.

Through His faithfulness, an amazing door has opened for me to come join the mission of Shalom Birthing Center in Antipolo City, Philippines in June and July! Shalom was established in 1992 by a retired nurse, where she simply opened her home to at-risk and impoverished mothers. It now sees 60-100 babies come into this world each month and provides critical prenatal care to 400 women each week. Not only does Shalom provide skilled nursing, but they partner with local churches to help connect these families to the Gospel. During my time at Shalom, I will assist in deliveries, prenatal care, home visits, local outreach, and be trained on medical missions. I am so excited to stand alongside Shalom Birthing Center in its ministry, as I learn new skills that will further equip me for a future in nursing.
