Ukraine Relief

Start a Campaign

ACTION is currently ministering to people both in Ukraine and also in Poland:

In Ukraine, ACTION is working with contacts at five church-based shelters to provide practical, emotional, and spiritual help to internally displaced people and refugees as they make they way westward. Each shelter is hosting two or three times more people than they had planned for. Over 1,500 people have been coming through the shelters every day. Most of the refugees passing through the shelters are open to having pastors and volunteers pray with them. The topics of evil, sin, God, and eternal rescue are natural conversations in these circumstances. At the shelters, people receive food, housing (either at the shelter or in the homes of church members), counseling, and the good news of the Gospel. Some are wounded but are more eager to get to the border than a hospital, so most of the families leave for Poland after staying one night. Pastors, elders, and deacons help them make that 4-hour trip in buses that each shelter has.

On the Ukrainian border of Poland, volunteers are able to provide bigger items for people, like mattresses and kitchen equipment, including the triage assistance of medical help, food, and gasoline. Local political leaders, police, security services, and all of the individuals and families passing through are hearing of God’s love.

And in Poland, we have an ACTION USA worker who lived in Kherson and speaks Russian who is helping short-term with the fundamental physical and spiritual needs of the many internally displaced people as they move on to wherever they are able to settle. We are also in touch with her church in Kherson and are seeking to get funds to them there to enable them to continue their outreach efforts.

Thank you for your willingness to give toward the compassionate ministries and gospel outreach of the local church in Ukraine and for your fervent prayers, which make it possible to provide hope and help on the ground in the name of Christ.
