Matt & Becki Beack

The Beacks are from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Matt and Becki joined ACTION in Spring 2007 and arrived in the Philippines in February 2011. They have four sons and the oldest, Isaiah, is currently living in the United States attending trade school to become an airplane mechanic and pilot. Their other three sons, Elijah (17), Aiden (11), and Judah (10) attend Faith Academy, which is about twenty minutes from their home. Becki is a TCK who grew up in the Philippines and received a call to missions when she was 13. Matt is a TCK as well, grew up in Indonesia and received his call to become a missionary while he was in college. Before moving to the Philippines, Matt worked in the counseling field with children and families dealing with behavioral and emotional difficulties. Becki spent many years working with inner-city children at a Christian after-school program in Harrisburg, PA. The Beacks have moved around in the Philippines but have been living in the Antipolo area (east of Metro Manila) for more than four years. Becki's desire in her Member Care role is to meet with ACTION Philippines missionary women and engage them in conversation about how they are doing emotionally, spiritually, etc., so that they can remain healthy as missionaries, thrive in their ministry, and avoid burnout. Matt's passion and desire in his role as a trauma counselor is to walk alongside these children and adolescence who have suffered unimaginable neglect and abuse to help bring them to a place of wholeness and healing in Christ through the counseling process. The verse that motivates him to do this work is John 10:10- "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come that they may have life, and life to the full."
