Rista from the District of Dhading. Her famliy is considered low-caste and poor, and considered uneducated. Children from this caste are particulary prone to being sold into slavery through family ignorance and need.

Rista was born with a cleft palate that was rectified by surgery when she was 7 months old. Her mother died of cancer when Rista was 7 years old. Her father remarried and relatives took her in.

The relatives contacted Hope Home to assess if she could join the home. With her father's permission, Rista was accepted into Hope Home in 2019.

She is very happy and excited to have joined Hope home where she receives the love of a supportive Christian family, nutritious meals, and her medical and educational needs are met.
