Phil & Mariela Legal

Phil and Mariela Legal serve as missionaries on the U.S./Mexico border. Their passion is to reach neglected children and their families in this tense area—migrants who come from many Latin American countries.

In 1996, Phil joined ACTION and in 1998 started ministry in Colombia. In 1999, he and Mariela were married.  

Migrants travel to the U.S. border due to poverty, criminal gang activity, and natural disasters.

The goal of this missionary couple is to bring the Good News to these transients. Their vision is to give hope to these hurting and displaced people by providing both spiritual and social ministry.

Phil and Mariela are involved in children’s and family ministries, counseling, church planting, and leadership training.

Phil is the coordinator of ACTION’s Children in Crisis Advocacy Taskforce and serves as Safety Protection Coordinator for children and vulnerable adults.
