Sheryl Grunwald

I’ve been working with children for most of my life, first as a volunteer in the church, then as an elementary school teacher, a children’s minister, and now as a missionary. I’m passionate about equipping children’s ministry leaders around the world to reach, disciple and empower children. Since 2005 I’ve worked as a global trainer of children’s leaders, equipping men and women to minister effectively to children in their context. My work has spanned 33 countries on five continents and has included the equipping of national trainers, advocating the importance of investing in the next generation, helping establish networks to work more effectively for the sake of children, and mentoring emerging leaders and national leadership teams for children's ministry. Men, women, and youth I’ve trained and equipped have gone on to impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of children around the world. I serve on the core team of the Global Children's Forum Leadership Experience (www.gcfleadership.org), a one-year life-changing leadership development program for emerging children’s ministry leaders. In 2024 I graduated with a Ph.D. in Holistic Childhood Development through the Asia Graduate School of Theology in Manila, so I also serve occasionally as an adjunct professor in seminaries around the world.
In 2004 God gave me the ministry vision to “Disciple the children of the nations!” I love what God has called me to do, and consider it a privilege to partner with amazing people who are raising up the next generation of disciples AND disciple-makers. I’ve been a part of ACTION International Ministries since 2012, and in 2025 I took on a new role as the International Director of Children in Crisis Ministries, helping to raise awareness and support for coworkers serving vulnerable children and youth through a variety of ministries globally.
