Anna Drysdale

My name is Anna Drysdale and I am a second year student at Prairie College in the Intercultural Studies program. I am twenty years old and can proudly say that I am a follower of Christ. I have grown up in the Church and have seen God at work in my life from a very young age. He has given me a calling for ministry and has been preparing me to serve His mission over the years. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful family and genuine friendships who have shaped me into the person I am today. 

In the Intercultural Studies program there is an international internship in the third year of the program which I am taking part in this coming school year. This is known as the Globetrek program and is an eight month study abroad program. There is a month of travel with a team of five people in September to four countries, followed by six months at the internship site. This trip ends with one last month of travel to about five countries with the original five person team. This program is a chance to see how the Lord is working around the world and how Christian ministries are serving God's kingdom. It is a time to explore the world, to experience new cultures and to learn about what it is to be a missionary across the globe. 

For my particular internship I will be serving in Athens, Greece at a rehabilitation shelter for victims of human trafficking. This shelter operates two different safe houses and has a main learning center as well as a downtown office. While there I will be serving in various different roles, such as in the daycare the shelter runs, hosting life skills classes such as baking, reading, jewelry making ect. My goal is to interact with these women, forming genuine relationships and leading them towards Christ and ultimately a place of healing. The shelter has social workers and counselors on staff to minister to the ladies as well as various interns to help run the daily tasks. I will be at this shelter as a mission partner with Action International and hope to serve the Lord to the best of my abilities while there.
