We serve with the Wilderness Ministry Institute (WMI) in Latin America, helping churches and Christian leaders use wilderness experiences as a tool for discipleship.
Our desire is not to replace the ministry of the local church, but to come alongside it. We equip pastors, youth leaders, and other church leaders with the competence and confidence to use wilderness experiences, retreats, and time in nature as part of their ministry of making disciples.
We believe that ministry includes stepping away from the noise and busyness of life to pray, teach, listen, and spend time with others. A walk, a day outdoors, a retreat, a camping trip, or a longer expedition can provide a setting where Scripture is opened, relationships are strengthened, and people are encouraged to follow Christ.
Through biblical teaching, practical training, field experience, and ongoing encouragement, we serve leaders throughout Latin America as they develop wilderness ministry within the context of their local churches.
Partnering with us
We are grateful for those who pray for us, encourage us, and support this work financially. We invite churches and individuals who would like to learn more about what God is doing through this ministry to prayerfully consider whether He may be leading them to participate with us.
There are many ways to share in this work: praying for the ministry and the leaders we serve, encouraging us, giving financially, or connecting us with others who may benefit from WMI. Whatever form that participation may take, we are thankful for those who choose to come alongside us as we serve the local church and seek to make disciples throughout Latin America.
