Kate Blackburn
Hello! My name is Kate Blackburn. I am excited to partner with Action to serve the local church in Kilkenny, Ireland! I will be volunteering at the Kinfire Festival, a conference uniting several local churches, where the hope is to equip participants with the tools and training to deepen their understanding of faith and confidently share the good news of Jesus. This is a special opportunity to celebrate how Jesus is drawing together one people, united by His Spirit, empowered for His mission through the local church.
I will be helping in several areas of putting on the conference but am especially excited about serving in kids ministry! I have had the joy of serving in kids ministry for the last 2 years at my local church and look forward to sharing God’s love with the children of Ireland and supporting the families attending this conference.
As I was reflecting on how I could love and serve God greatly this year, I began praying about an opportunity to serve the nations on mission. Shortly after my good friend, Peyton Hasse, shared this opportunity to serve the people of Ireland: a country I have since learned has an evangelical population of less than 2% according to the Joshua Project.
Fun fact: Peyton and I actually became good friends through serving in kids ministry together! We have shared many sweet memories praising the Lord alongside his children and I look forward to being the hands and feet of Jesus in Ireland together as we share the good news of the gospel with the next generation.
I ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with me in this special opportunity to serve the local church in Ireland. I pray the people of Ireland would have a spiritual hunger that will turn their hearts to Jesus and that His name would be praised higher than any other name!
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking: Who should I send? Who will go for us? I said: Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8
