Hi friends! My name is Andy de Lima, and I am a senior clinical nursing student at Biola University! I was born in Quezon City, Philippines, but I grew up in the States. I grew up surrounded by amazingly strong nurses like my mother, who inspired me to consider pursuing a career in nursing. I have a deep passion for helping and caring for others, and chose to go into healthcare as a means to do so. God directed me to pursue nursing, and I fell in love with the profession after stepping foot into the hospital and caring for my first patient. I’ve witnessed the deep compassion, empathy, and immense knowledge that nurses display for their patients in their most vulnerable state. I aim to embody a nurse that delivers positive and empowering connections with my own patients. Overall, I aspire to become a critical care nurse; as well as a lifelong learner and advocate for the people under my care.

In just a few months, I will be earning my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Time flew by so fast! But in the meantime, in February, I have the absolute pleasure and opportunity to go back home to the Philippines to serve at Shalom Birthing Center and alongside Hope Rescue. One of the main reasons why I pursued nursing is to return home to the Philippines and medically serve our Filipino community. This experience is a dream come true. As I will soon embark on this journey, I know that God will always be by my side to empower me in serving His children and expanding the kingdom for His glory!
