Kevin & Felecia Wiebe
Greetings, we are Kevin and Felecia Wiebe. We are serving in Liberia, West Africa with our four younger children, Darius, Kalesha, Jason and Hezekyah while our oldest daughter prepares for and studies in the field of nursing in Canada. We were married in 2010 and have been preparing for the ministry that God has laid on our hearts for many years.
In 1998, while on a youth trip to a Bible College, God revealed to Kevin that overseas missions would be a big part of his life and that Africa specifically would be the destination. A few years later, in 2002, this journey really took hold, and his first international journey was through the School of Discipleship at the Canadian Mennonite University. The first three months of the program consisted of Outreach Events, Bible and Theology Studies and a focus on Conflict Resolution while traveling through the beautiful British Columbia. After a brief resting period, the team returned for the overseas portion which was three intensive months of traveling, outreach and interaction in South Africa and Uganda. This year of studies and travel taught Kevin to “Know God, Know theWorld and Know Yourself” and left an impact that would forever change how he viewed the world and all the peoples in God’s Creation. After seeing first-hand how every person on this earth is looking for God and that the freedom, grace and salvation of Jesus is the only answer, this has guided his desire to minister and teach. After meeting Felecia in 2009, God has been training andguiding our family to ministry in preparation to teach the Gospel of Jesus to all nations.
Felecia was born in Liberia and experienced upheaval and pain at a very young age when the first Liberian Civil War started. Coming from a family with many pastors and a country with strong Christian values and deep family ties, this time was very traumatic to both Felecia and all the people of Liberia. When a second civil erupted a short time later, Felecia made the very difficult decision to leave and arrived at a Refuge Camp in Ghana. It was during this time of great trials that God really worked miracles and taught Felecia the importance of prayer, study and taking action in ministry. Life on the refuge camp was very challenging and many people were overwhelmed. After crying out to God for help, Felecia established “Vision of Hope Ministries”. Through this ministry, many Liberians on the camp re-gained hope and achieved the vision to see God’s healing and power even in times of great suffering. After one and a half years of Bible School Training at the camp, Felecia was provided the opportunity to immigrate to Canada with the help of a special Lady and a group of five women from Manitoba and Ontario.
Liberia has been especially laid on our hearts as the effects of the civil wars are still evident throughout the country. The family unit and values that were a strong foundation of society was fractured and many of the challenges from that difficult period continue to affect families and communities today. In 2024, Kevin and Felecia had the opportunity to visit Liberia, and our hearts were deeply touched by what we saw. We witnessed a nation filled with potential, yet many young people are searching for hope, purpose, and spiritual direction. As we spent time with local people, we sensed a growing hunger for Jesus among the younger generation. Many youth are facing difficult influences and are searching for answers about faith and life. We believe God is calling us to establish a ministry in Liberia that will help young men and women develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in their understanding of God's Word.
Our vision is to share the Gospel, disciple believers, mentor young leaders, and encourage the next generation to become strong followers of Christ. Through biblical teaching, youth outreach, leadership development, and community-based ministry, we desire to see lives transformed by the love and power of Jesus. We are excited about what God is doing in Liberia and believe this is a strategic time to invest in the nation's future. Our prayer is that God will raise up a generation of young people who know Jesus personally, live faithfully for Him, and become a positive influence in their families, churches, and communities. We are committed to serving alongside local believers and helping strengthen the Church for generations to come.
