Joseph & Cynthia Omodia
My name is Joseph, and I'm married to Cynthia Tania. We have three daughters, Peggy, 10 years old, Patricia, 8 years old, and Brincy, 18 months old. We live and serve in Kenya on Mfangano Island in Lake Victoria.
I met the Lord as my personal Savior in June 1991. I became active in local evangelism and developed a great zeal to serve the Lord. I was involved in Bible Translation and Bible teaching over the radio, where I interacted with missionaries from African Inland Missions, Summer Institute of Linguistics, Bible Translations and Literacy of East Africa, and Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Through this work, I began to sense a call to missions, but had no direction on how I could become a missionary. One day, I hosted a servant of God who was from South Africa. He needed a place to stay for one week on his way to Germany. This is the man God used to connect me to a missions school and Cross-Cultural studies in southern African countries, where I did the study in six countries.
This is where I realized the full call of missions, but then I remained not knowing about a missionary sending organization. One day I met Action International Ministries online and I officially became a missionary through ACTION.
