Julia Peet
Hello! My name is Julia Peet, and I am so excited for the opportunity to serve the Lord in the Philippines in the coming months. I have a heart for people and strive to live each day with the intention of loving others well through the grace, kindness, and compassion that Jesus has shown me. I love people, sports, the local church, being outdoors, adventure, spending time with those I love, and most importantly, sharing the good news of Jesus.
I pray daily for the Lord to help me live boldly for the Gospel and become more like Jesus in every area of my life. For over five years, I have had the privilege of serving in my local church, volunteering at camps, and walking alongside others in their faith journeys. However, I have never had the opportunity to intentionally serve God’s people internationally. I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity and believe it is an answered prayer that the Lord has guided me this far in my nursing journey at Biola University and has opened the door for me to serve abroad.
I will be traveling to Manila, Philippines, where I will have the opportunity to serve alongside volunteers, Dr. Becky, and others at Shalom Birthing Center. The center focuses on providing healthcare support and meeting the needs of women in the community. During this trip, I hope to use the education and skills I have gained over the past four years as a nursing student at Biola to serve those who may have limited access to healthcare and resources. I am walking into this experience with a humble heart, knowing that while I hope to serve others, I also believe the Lord will teach and grow me in countless ways. My prayer is that He would use this experience to shape me into someone who can continue serving and loving others long after this trip is over.
As I prepare for this journey, your prayers would mean so much to me. I would love for you to join me in praying for safe travels, health, opportunities to serve, meaningful conversations, and most importantly, that Jesus would be made known through every interaction. I believe the Lord hears our prayers and has already begun preparing the people, conversations, and experiences that will take place during this trip.
This opportunity is a significant financial commitment, as serving abroad for nearly the entire month of October requires more support than a local camp or ministry opportunity. I am currently hoping to raise around $3,000 to help make this trip possible. If you feel led to partner with me financially, I would be incredibly grateful. However, if financial support is not something you are able to provide at this time, I would still deeply appreciate your prayers and encouragement.
I know I cannot do this on my own. I am so thankful for the community God has placed around me and for those who are willing to pray, support, and walk alongside me as I follow where He is leading.
