Zambia: Camp Ciyanjano

Send a Note Start a Campaign
“Ciyanjano” means “fellowship,” and that is what this Christian campground and conference center is all about. ACTION Zambia (AZ) has developed a 20-acre property in the rural outskirts of Lusaka.

Our mission is to provide local churches, especially those in poor areas of Lusaka, with an affordable facility for Christian camps and conferences. It is also used as a training ground for the Champs Program, which equips youth in evangelism skills to share with other youth.

The camp grounds include the Ripley Center, which is constantly used for retreats, conferences, and trainings. There is a larger campground area with an outdoor chapel, two classrooms, five camping chalets, an outdoor kitchen, a large restroom and shower building, and a playground. The campground sleeps 150.

Ciyanjano is partially self-sustaining through its maize (corn) shelling and hammer mill business. And it is a blessing to the community by offering free access to a clean water tap and a soccer pitch for community games.

Camp Ciyanjano is a vital ministry for the ACTION Zambia team and a significant service to the community. It offers a multitude of opportunities for fellowship, training, and rest that is unusual in this part of the world. Supporting the camp and its activities is a way of significantly caring for God’s people in an area of the world that is challenged and in need of opportunity.
