School for Sudanese Children
In a crowded neighborhood on the outskirts of Cairo, thousands of Sudanese refugees live in difficult conditions. Among them are children who long for the chance to learn, but Egyptian public schools will not admit them, and private schools are far beyond their families’ reach. Even if they could attend, an Egyptian diploma would hold little value back in Sudan.
In the midst of this need, a Sudanese believer—whom we’ll call Commandant—stepped out in faith and started a school. What began with a few hundred children quickly grew, as word spread among families desperate for an education for their sons and daughters. Today, hundreds of Sudanese children crowd into the classrooms each day. They come in shifts—morning and afternoon—because there simply isn’t enough space for them all at once.
The classrooms are basic. The walls are smudged and peeling, the furniture is worn and broken, and resources are limited. Yet despite these challenges, the school is a place of life, joy, and opportunity. Children who might otherwise be left behind are learning to read, write, and dream again.
With just $2,000, the building can be refreshed and repaired—walls painted, furniture fixed, and having the simple supplies that make a school a place of dignity. Your gift can help create an environment where children not only receive an education but also experience hope and love in the name of Christ.
