1for50 Ministry Update

1for50 Ministry Update

The global pandemic may have caused ministry to shift, but 1for50 leaders around the world continue doing great things. 1for50 is a global grassroots movement that equips local leaders to impact the next generation for Christ. As a global trainer, my work has shifted to online training for the past year, but our 1for50 leaders are faithfully sharing the Good News with children around the world, in spite of incredible difficulties. One leader I work with in Cameroon, already displaced by civil unrest, is now facing restrictions and possible arrest as a minister in her denomination. She writes, "Our nation is gradually going down the drain and leaving us with very little room to do ministry. I ask God for the courage to take the mountains (children)." She is not concerned for herself but for the next generation. Wow!

In May 2020, I conducted my first online training with a group in Kenya. From that group, we mentored 12 master trainers who formed three training teams and began to multiply training across Kenya, both online and in person. They have equipped hundreds of children’s ministry workers across their country and are now training their fifth cohort of online training. I love the multiplication strategy and praise God for their vision and commitment.

In April, 1for50 celebrated, via a virtual global retreat, all that God is doing around the world through leaders who reach, disciple, and empower children. These testimonies are too good to keep to myself. The video linked below shares some highlights.

This month we also launched a new 6-hour training on Children and Trauma, called “From Brokenness to Wholeness.” This open source curriculum is designed for Sunday school and children’s club workers to equip them to be agents of hope and healing. I cannot wait to see how God will use this curriculum.

I may be grounded for now, but God is not! Hallelujah!
