Glimpse into My First Year in Malawi

Glimpse into My First Year in Malawi

I am nearly finished with one year in Malawi...the first, I hope, of many. This past year has been an eye-opening one. There is so much to learn, and one cannot learn it all quickly. Learning a culture takes patience and love, and it is the best way right now I can serve the Malawian people. The ministries I long to start, the programs that could be done will happen when God wants them to. But for now, this year was all about learning...learning how to kill, de-feather, and cook a chicken 'the Malawian way;' making so many Chichewa mistakes that hopefully will happen less frequently this 2020; walking everywhere instead of driving; learning the names of local plants; hearing stories; bearing burdens with my Malawian friends. That is a glimpse into my first year in Malawi.
