Learning to Adapt through Metro Manila Lockdown

Learning to Adapt through Metro Manila Lockdown

On March 15th, Metro Manila went into lockdown, resulting in Project: Pag-asa, our school for children from local orphanages, becoming an online school. Suddenly becoming an online teacher for ESL students with restricted technology, poor internet, and limited home support has been challenging. We miss silly conversations, watching our kids' "aha moments,” and all the ways that we usually get to love and care for the kids; however, we are finding ways to do this online. We are seeing some students push themselves and take responsibility for their learning in ways that we haven’t before. We are seeing others struggle because the love that they receive in the classroom is no longer as easy to get. Amid the current challenges, we are trusting God, who loves these kiddos more than anyone, to guide us as we continue to serve His children. Please pray for the Pag-asa staff as we seek to provide a trauma-informed home learning environment for our students.
