South Africa COVID-19 Outreach
Locked In and Hungry
South Africa started the Coronavirus lockdown 90 days ago, but most of the people in the townships don't have set jobs and rely on the work they are able to do on a daily basis to bring food home. With the lockdown, this became impossible, which means a lot of people would be hungry!
No Work, No Food
From the 22nd of March to the end of April, we were able to give out 357 Food Parcels. After South Africa went into phase 4 of the lockdown, some people were able to get work again, but we noticed many children were still going hungry. We began to buy meat and vegetables and hired two ladies from the community to cook around 261 meals for them 3 times a week in Avian Park. Since April, we have provided more than 6 thousand warm meals for these kids.
"We had no food for today and God sent you"
FOOD FOR 3 MORE DAYS ONLY
261 Children are receiving meals 3 times a week.
We have money for 3 more days.
Would you help us to continue this project until the situation in South Africa gets back to normal and people will be back to work and have money to buy food for their kids again?
