Testimony from the Field - Colombia
This is a time to give thanks and share stories that will make your hearts glad. With God's help, we are transforming the lives of 6 young people, each with incredible stories, but the word of God has made them serve and help me keep this ministry center running today. Each one of them has been my arms and feet to work and to share the good news of salvation.
We continue to feed the children and young people in our community. We now have 140 children in the program. Sometimes, it seems as if there is no food in their homes. They finish everything on the table, and their faces are full of joy when they see the food.
We held two Christmas events for these people in our community. The first one was held in our ministry center for 200 children, 100 of which came to our center for the very first time. But before the event, we spoke on discipleship and the purpose of why Jesus came to earth. That was the condition for attending the Christmas event. Here, we shared lunch with the 200 children and gave them a gift containing a toy and school supplies for the next year. The second Christmas event was held for 80 children in a shantytown. This area lacks any comfort, and its needs are immense. Actually, we have found children sleeping on the floor or 3 to 4 children in a bed. We were able to share the good news of salvation, and 5 families accepted the Lord. They and their children now attend our Bible studies.
