Some History We have been serving in missions over 20 years now. In 2004 Charles and Bridget Ulibarri, along with their son, Micah, and daughter Brianna, were called to and served in Equatorial Guinea, West Central Africa (Africa’s only Spanish speaking country), and ministered there until 2011, doing support work for a Bible translation project with another mission agency. The ministries they served in there included Church Leadership Development (TEE), Literacy and Computer Technical Support. They worked with that ministry project for 7 years (2004 – 2011).
After returning from West Africa and having considered other missions, in April 2012, Charles and Bridget were appointed to work with ACTION, and in September 2012, after some months of raising support, they moved from the Dallas, Texas area to Seattle to work at the ACTION home office, leaving their children in Texas to finish college. God answered their prayers to be in the northwest by the end of the summer 2012. From October 2012 – March 2016, Charles served primarily as part of the SCM (Sustainable Church Multiplication) Church Multiplication Ministry: Helping to train nationals in discipleship & church planting movements, and PLD ministries as time allowed. As part of SCM/PLD Charles has trained in Cuba, South Sudan, Uganda, Malawi and Mexico, as well as locally in the Seattle area. He also assisted Rob Taylor in the ACTION Computer & Technical Services – ACTS, when not taking training trips.
Charles graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ministry Leadership from the
Moody Bible Institute Distance Learning online program in December 2015. He has also worked on his Masters of Cross Cultural Ministry at Dallas Theological Seminary, 2018-19, but has not completed it. While in Seattle Bridget served in the ACTION International Office as the International Office Executive Coordinator assisting then-International Director Nelson Reed and those in the International Office as well as missionaries worldwide. Bridget received a certificate in Bible from
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary Okenga Institute in 2015.
Later in 2016, Charles and Bridget left Seattle and moved back to Texas, temporarily, to prepare and serve in the ACTION field of Uganda, East Africa. They served in
Gulu, Uganda as the OIC (field director), JITT School Director and Administrationfor the field from May 2016 to April 2017. As of December 2017 they are serving again from the U.S., Charles with SCM/PLD, Technology and Bridget with Women’s Ministry & Mobilization. From 2017 to mid 2024 Charles worked at DTS, Rush Creek Church, and one of the local school districts, while Bridget continued her ministries serving from home.
From August to December of 2024 - they moved to and served in Mozambique, Africa. From January to June of 2024 we served CDL remotely from the U.S. We were with the project for 10 months total. We were support workers for a Bible school there. The school is called Center for Development of Church Leadership, (cdlequip.org). It was started by a DTS grad several years ago. Charles was helping with the technology there to allow the school to offer online and hybrid theological studies to all the Portuguese speaking countries in Africa. With the goal of training local staff, faculty, students and volunteers to sustain the technology in the future. Bridget was assisting in the library and teaching TESOL and continuing her women's ministry from Africa.
Currently: Charles and Bridget are now serving from the U.S. based in Texas, since January of 2025. Charles helped CDL with their online services until June of 2025. He is also assisting ACTION Coalition with their website and materials. He is also assisting some other missionaries and church leaders from some other organizations with their ministry, online learning platforms and web presence. Starting in June of 2025 Charles was seconeded from ACTION to serve part-time with Dallas International University (https://www.diu.edu/) in their IT Department as an IT Support Specialist. DIU is a graduate level institution associated with Wycliffe/SIL to train in Linguistics and Bible Translation. He is thankful to continue to help and keep up with educational technologies. He plans to take some short-term trips in the near future to serve in PLD, and IT Technical Support for Bible schools and Seminaries in developing countries where he can assist them in being able to use technology to train and disciple church leaders in person and online.
Bridget continues to serve ACTION as the International Coordinator for Women. The International Coordinator for Women helps to equip, organize and coordinate ACTION’s women’s ministry interests worldwide, as well as represent women’s concerns and is part of the member care team. She is also assisting women with their long-term applications with the ACTION mobilization team.
