ACTION Honduras – Transforming Lives Through the Gospel
ACTION’s ministries in Honduras share one heartbeat: to see lives transformed by the hope and truth of Jesus Christ. Across coastal villages, jungle regions, and local churches, our missionaries are advancing the Gospel through discipleship, education, leadership development, and holistic community care.
Mike & Lisa Brenner – La Casa del Camino, Puerto Lempira
Mike and Lisa Brenner serve in the remote region of La Mosquitia, where God has given them a deep love for the indigenous Miskito people. After years of short-term ministry, God led them to establish La Casa del Camino, a boys’ home providing discipleship, a family-like environment, and access to secondary education through Instituto Vida Abundante—the only free school beyond sixth grade in the region. Their ministry equips at-risk young men to grow academically, spiritually, and relationally into the future leaders of La Mosquitia.
ARABU Community Center – Carlos & Ana Graugnard and Zach & Audry Brown
In one of the most impoverished rural communities on the Caribbean coast, the ARABU Community Center serves families in Colonia 28 de Marzo through holistic, Christ-centered initiatives focused on education, health, and the environment.
Carlos and Ana Graugnard, founders of ARABU, have ministered full-time in this community since 2018. Carlos is passionate about discipling youth to know Christ and live transformed lives for His glory, while Ana ministers to girls and women seeking emotional and spiritual healing, helping them find restoration and purpose in Christ.
Zach and Audry Brown, high school teachers from rural Tennessee, are following God’s call to join the Graugnards in this ministry. Audry desires to help teens find their identity and worth in Christ, especially during major transitions in life. Zach longs to help people experience true belonging in God’s kingdom and to live joyfully in obedience to Christ. Together, the Browns will strengthen ARABU’s discipleship, educational, and community initiatives.
Kevin Membreno – Church Planting & Leadership Training
Kevin Membreno came to faith at eight years old, when the Holy Spirit opened his heart to the gospel. Growing up watching his father preach and connecting with missionary teams from the U.S. gave him a deep burden for the church and unreached people. In his twenties, Kevin prepared for ministry at Rio Grande Bible Seminary in Texas, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Missions. While serving in church planting in the Rio Grande Valley, God showed him the need for healthy churches and trained leaders across Latin America. In 2020, God called Kevin back to Honduras, where he now focuses on church planting, pastoral training, and gospel-centered leadership development throughout Honduras and the region.
Raúl & Alma Villanueva – Global Seminary & Compassionate Care for Young Mothers
In the heart of La Ceiba, Honduras, Raúl and Alma Villanueva lead a dual-impact ministry that combines compassionate care with theological formation.
Caring for Vulnerable Young Mothers:
Raúl and Alma provide comprehensive care to young mothers and their babies who face social risk, extreme poverty, and abandonment. Their ministry offers safety, practical support, emotional guidance, and Christ-centered hope—restoring dignity and helping families rebuild their lives through the love of Jesus.
Global Seminary – Training Faithful Expositors of God’s Word:
The Villanuevas also lead Global Seminary, a beacon of biblical teaching and expository preaching in northern Honduras. The seminary’s mission is to equip men to faithfully interpret and proclaim the Word of God with clarity, accuracy, and relevance in a region deeply in need of solid theological training.
Global Seminary stands on four core values:
-
Academic Excellence – Providing strong biblical, theological, hermeneutical, and expository training.
-
Biblical Integrity – Upholding the full authority and truth of Scripture in all of life and ministry.
-
Practical Formation – Encouraging hands-on ministry and service as an expression of faith.
-
Spiritual Community – Cultivating a Christ-centered environment where students grow together spiritually.
In addition to training men for pastoral and preaching ministry, the seminary also equips women to serve as Sunday School teachers and lead vital women’s ministries, meeting significant spiritual needs throughout the North-Atlantic region.
Through both compassionate outreach and theological education, Raúl and Alma are helping shape the next generation of Christlike leaders in Honduras.
