Leanne Carter
Leanne Carter and her two boys, Jonathan and David, live and serve near Vienna, Austria. Leanne’s ministry focus is discipleship.
Leanne first arrived in Austria in 1984 right out of Bible School. Over the years she was involved in discipleship, office support, relief work and evangelism. In 1995, she fell in love with a widowed co-worker, Warren Carter (and he with her J). They married in 1996. Warren’s son Christopher was 16 at the time. The Lord blessed them with two more sons Jonathan (1998) and David (2002).
They were missionaries with Discipling the Nations and became associate missionaries with ACTION Canada in 2004. Warren and Leanne continued to teach and disciple with a special emphasis on young leaders. In February, 2011 Warren suffered a fatal injury while the family was skiing in western Austria.
God’s calling has not changed for Leanne and, with her boys, continues to live and serve in Austria. The Lord has poured out His grace and love on the Carters through the care of so many. Bible studies, discipleship groups, children’s ministry, leadership training, hospitality, teaching, and, of course, being a mother fill Leanne’s days. Her desire is to continually draw close to the Lord, love Him, delight in Him, and do the good works He has prepared for her.
