Our partner church in Kherson, Ukraine has been destroyed

Our partner church in Kherson, Ukraine has been destroyed

Dear Missions-Minded Friends,

I hope you have been encouraged by my reports over the last several months of how ACTION, through a partnership with a church in Kherson, has provided food, firewood, and flood relief in the midst of the war.

For so many people, the humanitarian aid and Gospel outreach of this congregation has been a bright spot in the midst of darkness, uncertainty, and fear.

I therefore have a very heavy heart as I tell you that the building the church was renting, all their equipment and musical instruments, and all the food and relief supplies, was destroyed in an two nights ago.

Thankfully, no one died and only one person was injured.

The attack seems to have included mortar shells and drones into some neighborhoods in Kherson.

One member of the church said, “Tonight, the air alarm went off. I went outside because something similar to a moped flew past the house. Immediately there was an explosion. Everything burned down - the small hall, the big hall, expensive equipment, microphones, guitars. Everything, what we collected for people: food, clothes. Everything burned.”

Obviously, the church’s needs are great. Thank you in advance for your prayers for this congregation as they find their footing again and soon relaunch their relief program and Gospel outreach

Yours in Christ,

Brian Stewart
Executive Director
