Philippines: Second Mile Ministries

ACTION Second Mile Ministries is a Christian discipleship center that seeks to equip and empower the poor and marginalized through holistic discipleship. The scenic campus is in Silang, Cavite, about 60 kilometers south of Metro Manila.  

The Ministries of Second Mile:

Foundation in Christian Discipleship (FCD)

In partnership with local churches, students from poor and disadvantaged families undergo an intensive four-month discipleship program which includes learning a vocational skill. The discipleship provides the foundation needed for a growing faith in Christ. Currently, students are trained in welding in preparation for skill certification and for the workplace. FCD is the integration of the previous Working Hands and Honest Hands ministries in Second Mile.    

Pastoral and Leadership Training (PLT)

Undertrained pastors and church workers are equipped with theological and ministry training through an online platform. Most students cannot afford or have limited access, due to their location, in-school Bible and ministry education. The objective is to equip them with the training they need for effective ministry.  

Camp and Retreat Center (CRC)

Churches and ministry groups may rent the facilities for camps, conferences, and retreats. Affordable rates provide cost accessibility to smaller churches and ministry organizations for their discipleship ministries.  

Our goal is that through training, mentoring, and relationship, those we serve will be transformed and empowered to live as faithful followers of Christ. They experience life change by being equipped with effective ministry training, solid biblical teaching, and qualified vocational skills.
